Capital Farm Credit Opens Applications for Statewide Ag Student of the Week

Capital Farm Credit is expanding its youth scholarship program statewide to incorporate the recognition of high school seniors involved in agriculture throughout the schoolyear. Capital Farm Credit Ag Student of the Week will reach across Capital Farm Credit’s five regions in Texas.

Ten students from each of the Association’s chartered regions will be chosen as a Capital Farm Credit Ag Student of the Week for a total of 50 recognized students.

Regions include:

  • Austin
  • Houston
  • San Antonio
  • Plains
  • South Texas

At the end of the scholarship season, one student from each region’s chosen winners will be awarded a one-time $1,000 scholarship. One overall program winner will be selected from the top 5 finalists to receive an additional $1,000 scholarship.

Applications are open through March 31, 2023 located here.

“We are continuing to find new ways to support and recognize the next generation of leaders in agriculture," said Phil Peabody, chief lending officer. “Our mission to sustain the future of agriculture and rural communities starts with our youth. The ag industry needs future leaders, and we are honored to highlight those individuals who are looking to further their pursuit of service for Texas agriculture.”
