Elgin High School senior named Austin Market's Ag Student of the Week - Week 2

Current Ag Involvement: "I have been in FFA since the 3rd grade, for 10 years, showing market broilers at our local county show, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and Rodeo Austin. I was the Blinn Welding Champion out of 60 contestants statewide. I was elected the FFA Star District Treasurer, Chapter President, Chapter Vice-President, and Chapter Treasurer.  I have also earned my Lone Star Degree. I am a State Horse Judging Qualifier and was the high individual for my Elgin chapter.  I have been competing on the Ag Skills LDE team since I was a freshman.  We have won District and advanced to Area my 9th and 11th grade years. I have also competed on the Poultry Judging team. I have also served as a voting delegate for the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Texas FFA conventions in addition to the District and Area Conventions. In addition, I have my own custom welding operation and have been baling hay with my father and grandfather for 8 years."

College to Attend:  I hope to attend San Angelo State, or Texas A&M Kingsville or Sul Ross State depending on football scholarship opportunities.

Career Goal: I intend to expand my own welding business and grow more clientele, branch out and have my own custom hay operation and cow-calf operation.
