Are you a beginning farmer, rancher, or agribusiness entrepreneur with big goals and a strong work ethic? Capital Farm Credit’s GROW Your AgriRoots Contest is your chance to be recognized—and rewarded—for your dedication to building a successful agricultural operation. This contest honors emerging producers who demonstrate leadership, financial responsibility, community involvement, a commitment to continued learning, and sustainable practices.
Contest Categories
Trailblazer Category
For individuals with 2 to 10 years of experience in farming, ranching, or agribusiness ownership. Applicants must be current or former Capital Farm Credit members who are 18 years of age or older.

Rising Star Category
Designed for those with less than 2 years of experience managing their own agricultural operation or planning to start one within the calendar year. Membership with Capital Farm Credit is not required, but applicants must reside within Capital Farm Credit’s territory. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Awards
In each category, up to two winners will receive a $10,000 prize, and each of the top five finalists will be awarded $1,000.
How to Apply
To apply, participants must:
- Complete the online application.
- Submit a business plan and financial statements.
- Rising Star applicants must fulfill the Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) participation requirement.
The 2026 contest will open on May 1 through June 30.
