After more than three decades of dedicated service to the Farm Credit System, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Glenn Trant is retiring. Glenn’s career has been marked by a deep commitment to rural communities, operational excellence, and the people he led and mentored along the way.

He joined Capital Farm Credit in 2008, after a merger with First Ag Credit, where he served as chief lending officer and regional president. Prior to taking on the role of interim chief lending officer, Trant served as senior vice president, lending & relationship management, as well as regional president for Capital Farm Credit.

During his tenure at CFC, Trant oversaw many teams at one time or another including retail lending, lending administration, real estate, IT, strategic operations and marketing. From his early days in the system to his most recent role, Glenn has been a guiding force and consistently championed the mission of Farm Credit.

“Over the years, Glenn has been instrumental in shaping the culture and capabilities of Capital Farm Credit, building high-performing teams, and championing initiatives that have left a lasting impact,” said Jeff Norte, president and CEO at Capital Farm Credit. “His leadership helped bring together cross-functional teams to deliver a more unified and efficient experience for our members.

“His steady management and incredible knowledge and expertise have allowed us to continue a path of growth and success,” added Norte.

Among his many contributions, Glenn played a pivotal role in the development of our real estate and events strategies, led the association’s pandemic response during a time of substantial business growth, and championed the vision for addition of a chief digital officer earlier this year. He provided significant guidance during the successful management transition of executive leaders in 2021 and oversaw crucial elements in the association’s new technology implementation of FarmView in 2022.

Glenn also shaped the organization’s long-term development for the real estate, marketing and strategic operations teams, strengthening the depth of those teams to set them up for success.

Whether guiding leadership or helping drive the future of our association, Glenn’s impact has been both broad and lasting.
