After an extraordinary career spanning more than three decades within the Farm Credit System, we are pleased to celebrate the retirement of Wally Hinkle, whose leadership and influence have shaped Capital Farm Credit in a lasting way.
Wally began his Farm Credit journey in 1989 with the Farm Credit Bank of Texas and spent the last 20 years contributing to Capital Farm Credit’s growth, culture and long‑term success. Known for his humility, intelligence, and steady leadership, Wally has long been a mentor and trusted advisor to many across the association.
His thoughtful communication style and ability to bring clarity and perspective to any situation have made him a respected voice throughout CFC. Wally’s leadership within the Austin and Houston Regions has left a meaningful legacy, and his contributions have extended far beyond regional boundaries.

Over the past couple years, he played a vital role in transitioning regional president duties across the association, ensuring continuity, stability and strong leadership for the future.
“Wally’s leadership was vital toward the accomplishment of recent 12X5 strategic objectives in addition to great progress on Vision 2030,” said Clint Cryer, SVP Lending. “Wally has set an excellent example of leadership and is a great leader and mentor to many.”
His impact is evident in the teams he has shaped, the leaders he has mentored and the example he has set through his commitment to service and integrity.
As Wally steps into retirement, he looks forward to enjoying time at his ranch on the Llano River, spending days fishing, relaxing and making memories with his grandchildren. His presence will be missed, but his influence will continue to be felt across Capital Farm Credit for years to come.
