David Horn, appraiser in the Plains region, is retiring after 36 years of dedicated service to Farm Credit. Throughout his career, David has played a vital role in appraising properties across the Texas Panhandle. His deep knowledge of the region and the strong network he built over the years have made him a trusted resource and a valued member of our team.
When asked what he’s looking forward to most in retirement, David shared that he’s excited about the freedom this next chapter will bring. “It feels great,” he said. “For so long, my focus has been on my responsibilities to CFC, and now I get to choose how I spend my time.”

David also offered advice for his coworkers, wisdom gained from both his professional journey and his life outside of work.
“I hope the next generation will prioritize their children while they’re still at home, because that time is fleeting,” he said. “There will always be opportunities to pursue career and financial goals, but you only get one chance to be present during those formative years. Family should come first.”
David’s dedication, professionalism, and perspective have left a lasting impact on the Plains region and on everyone who has had the privilege of working with him.
We wish him the very best as he begins this well‑earned and exciting new chapter.
