Farmers markets bring colorful produce, freshly prepared foods and other vibrant offerings to communities across Texas. Capital Farm Credit is proud to support nine markets this year as part of its 2025 Farmers Market Grant Program. Each of the nine farmers markets will receive $1,000 in grant funding. The Association’s outreach program continues to support local Texas agriculture and enhances community access to fresh, locally grown produce.
Capital Farm Credit’s Farmers Market Grant Program was designed to assist Texas markets in improving their infrastructure, expanding their outreach and increasing the availability of fresh food for consumers. By investing in these markets, Capital Farm Credit continues to foster economic growth and sustainability within local communities.
“We are excited to support these farmers markets that play a vital role in connecting local farmers with consumers,” said Jeff Norte, chief executive officer. “These grants will help enhance farmers market operations, ensuring that they can continue to operate in their local communities.”
The selected farmers markets will utilize the funding for various projects, including upgrading facilities, implementing marketing strategies and expanding vendor participation. This investment not only benefits the markets but also strengthens the local economy by promoting small businesses and encouraging community engagement.
