Young, Beginning & Small Farmers and Ranchers
 
Capital Farm Credit has a strong commitment to assist with financing to young, beginning and small farmers and ranchers. In addition, our staff is committed to the support and education of our youth by providing information in such areas as record keeping, marketing strategies, financial analysis, management and overall financial responsibility through programs with universities and high school agricultural groups.
 
In addition, Capital Farm Credit participates in youth livestock shows and auctions throughout our territory.
 
We also support the continuing higher education of our youth by awarding numerous college scholarships.
 

Definitions

Young Borrower:  A farmer, rancher or producer or harvester of aquatic products age 35 or younger as of the loan transaction date. 

Beginning Borrower:  A farmer, or rancher or producer or harvester of aquatic products who has ten or less years of farming, ranching or aquatic experience as of the loan transaction date.

Small Borrower:  A farmer, rancher or producer or harvester of aquatic products who normally generates less than $250,000 in annual gross sales of agricultural or aquatic products.
